Pembury was started in 1999 by our current CEO and founder, Andrew McLachlan. The first Pembury Lodge opened with only 5 residents and has since grown to over 400 residents across many lodges. Our goal is to become a national name in retirement, opening in all cities and towns in South Africa.
Our vision is to help people make the most of their well-deserved retirement years. All our lodges accommodate residents according to their needs, from independent living to frail care. We also offer various recreational and physical activities to ensure there’s always something to look forward to!
We are expanding on an annual basis as the need for secure, quality retirement lodges rises. Our aim is to help retirees keep their independence for as long as possible, but still provide the peace of mind that their daily needs are taken care of.
All our staff members are qualified, caring and hardworking individuals. We employ people with a passion for people; those who are willing to go above and beyond what is expected every day.
Nurturing and Caring Home Environment
We believe that kindness, empathy and respect for others creates the type of place our residents call home. Our staff are people you can trust and rely on to take care of you or your loved ones in the best possible way.
“It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing.”
Peace of Mind
Our residents and their families all agree, peace of mind is one of the most valuable gains of the Pembury way of life. Concerns about healthcare, safety, nutrition and the day-to-day stresses of maintaining a home can rob people of the joy of a peaceful retirement. Pembury allows residents to experience a rewarding and restful retirement and offers an answer to the following concerns:
-24-hour nursing as required (Independent Living, Mid Care and High Care)
-All nutritional needs are taken care of
-Daily domestic help
Quality of Life:
We recognise that there is much more to life than simply having the basics taken care of. We value quality time with family and friends, quality care and ultimately, quality of life. As part of our desire to give our residents an all-round fulfilling experience, we focus on the following:
-Healthy, nutritious and delicious meals prepared by trained chefs
-Social gatherings and activities to create an uplifting environment
-Special arrangements with health and beauty professionals and hairdressers
-Facilitated excursions to local shopping centres
